I wonder if thunderbird (plus addons?) could help fight phishing in the following way. Say I need to check the authenticity of emails I get from Bob. Is there a way to
1) Get Bob to create digital signature (PGP?) and send it to me ahead of time in secure channel; I store this signature locally (on thunderbird?)
2) Bob sends me an email, with this signature
3) Upon receiving this email, thunderbird automatically verifies the signature against the locally saved one and confirms that the signature is correct
Note: I am looking for automatic verification of message/sender, NOT encryption.
If this can be done, do Bob also needs to use thunderbird (plus addons?), or is there a standard protocol for this (e.g. can this be done via gmail webinterface, outlook, etc?)

1) Potentially junk messages are not recognised as such and are treated like all other messages 2) Thunderbird uses a fixed set of criteria to select what it thinks is junk, and then moves it as per the options selected.

I have several POP accounts from one email service each with its own profile, and several other (IMAP) accounts from another service that share a profile, which includes access to local folders that store saved email from all three accounts. I like the shared profile as I can see all accounts there by opening Thunderbird once, but I have no interest in seeing the email from multiple accounts in the same inbox for organizational reasons. Apparently I created the shared profile when I first opened those accounts. I am interested in combining the now separate POP accounts/profiles so that they all open at once in TB, but not in the same profile as those currently sharing a profile again for organizational reasons. End results two profiles one for service one and one for service two each of which opens showing all the accounts from that service and having local folders that are shared. Is it possible to do that? I expect there may be a problem with combining local folders which are currently in three separate profiles so the stored emails are accessible in the combined profile. In that event, I would plan to keep the separate profiles only to access those stored emails and disconnect them from getting new email using them only to access the local folder stores they already contain, and use the new combined profile to get new emails and store only new email copies locally.

Logging out and back in does not fix the problem but doing a restart does.

1. I have been using and Donating to Mozilla for some 25 years (I’m 75 y.o.) With excellent experiences until the resent years mess I can’t understand? How do I get Thunderbird from asking me go the passwords of my 6 email accounts or the overall primary account? I am getting very aggravated by this. And give this a 1 out of 10 for conveniences for members. (The Hackers don’t care they can get the passwords from my computer if they want!)
2. Regarding what to do when I get a yellow caution banner across email messages I receive. I don’t want any of the Options available and only what them blocked. If I select the X to remove the caution banner it comes back the next time I open it!!!! Nothing tells me how to block the scammers that have their name connected in it. Your poor instructions don’t say how to erase the banner from the emails permanently? So, what am I supposed to do?

Open Thunderbird: Launch the Thunderbird application on your computer.
Access the Calendar Tab: Click on the calendar icon in the top-right corner of the Thunderbird window to switch to the Calendar view.
Create a New Calendar:
Right-click in the calendar list on the left side of the screen.
Select New Calendar from the context menu.
Choose whether you want to create the calendar on your computer (local calendar) or on the network (online calendar).
Set Up the Calendar:
If you choose On my computer, enter a name for your calendar, select a color, and click Create Calendar.
If you choose On the Network, enter your username and the calendar URL. Thunderbird supports various calendar URLs, including Google Calendar.

Daily login to TB results results in Alert/Errors as depicted in the attached image. This happen for several of the email accounts I have. I haven't been able to track all the accounts which respond with this because the alerts disappear before I can take notes. While the accounts appear to keep functioning, I thought it was about time to try and discover the source of the problem and get it fixed.
Thunderbird 15.10.1 (64-bit), I haven't updated to 116.0 because all of the previous updates had no effect on this problem.

I want to see the full headers of some messages to see flags and produce a customised search. However, when I toggle View>Headers to Full from Normal, nothing changes, and I don't see all the header detail, just the basics. I've tried running this in Troubleshooting mode with all add-ons disabled, but no change.
This used to work OK in earlier versions, but I hardly ever need to see header details, except on this occasion.
What I'm trying to achieve is a search for a particular from/to, but only emails with attachments, and over a number of folders, and I think the headers will give me the code for an attachment present.

I fail to see any errors in here.
I even tried with the reference configuration from https://wiki.mozilla.org/Thunderbird:Autoconfiguration:ConfigFileFormat but it failed as well. (I just found that the <serverURL> tag is not properly closed but that was easy to fix.)
Has anyone here seen that effect as well? Should I file a bug?

My email which functions under Mozilla Thunderbird (which was created Jan 28, 2018 - yes that is 2018) has begun to "freeze". I cannot do simple filing of messages or delete batches of emails.
I went to HostCentric and cleared out the webmail version of all of my emails, hoping that this would "fix" my problem. It did not.
I do not know if my version Thunderbird should have been updated in the past or not. If I were to update my version of Thunderbird, would my existing email address remain in tact? Or do I have to back everything up in order to preserve my email "world"? I do NOT want to lose my email address and all of the inbox contents or sub-folder files.
My email is how I manage and communicate with my lawyer, accountant, summer rental property etc.

Thunderbird 128.6.0esr (64-bit) on Fedora 41 Linux...
I'm trying to export all messages in a mailbox on an old Yahoo mail account and then import all those messages into another email account. I access both accounts from Thunderbird. I'm using IMAP protocol, and all email accounts keep the messages on the server.
I've exported the mailbox to a folder on my computer; now all the email messages exist as separate .eml files in that folder. But I can't see how to import them into the second email account.
It seems that exporting my entire profile won't help as I'm not moving everything to a second computer. But I cannot see any way to select just the one mailbox from the one 'source' email account that I want to import into the 'destination' email account.

This morning, none of our Thunderbird desktop email is working. We can't send or receive email at all. Our webmail works but we don't want to use that. I just upgraded to 128.7.1esr hoping that would fix the problem. It hasn't. Attached is an error message I get when trying to send an email. I have checked and all the settings are correct.
I am not a developer so if you have any suggestions, please keep it simple. Thank you!
